Carl T. Olson, 66

Carl T. Olson, age 66, formerly of Rothschild, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.
Carl was born September 29, 1947 to the late Knute & Tilde Olson in Stevens Point, WI. He attended Lincoln Elementary School (Wausau), Jefferson Middle School and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in Stevens Point.
Carl enlisted in the Army on March 13, 1968. He was a medic during Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged March 12, 1971.
Following his discharge, Carl attended technical school in Chicago before moving back to WI. He continued his education, taking various courses at North Central Technical College in Wausau.
He married Bonnie Chesny on March 3, 1972 in Wausau. They later divorced.
Carl worked for J I Case as an assemblyman, while attending college. Following education, he continued working until becoming disabled. He later settled in Waupaca, WI.
Carl will be remembered as a “Gentle Giant”. He enjoyed the company of others and good conversation. Carl enjoyed his education and appreciated developing his knowledge of general business, clerical, banking, as well as machineening. He was a life long Lutheran.
Carl is survived by his son, Chandice Olson of Wausau, WI; brother, Donald “Donnie” Olson of Georgia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Olson of Pewaukee, WI. He is further survived by grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Orin & Maynard Olson.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 am, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Lieber officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in North New Hope Cemetery, Town of New Hope, WI.
