Minnie A. Boardman, 96

Minnie A. Boardman, age 96, of Stevens Point passed away January 28, at St. Michaels Hospital.
Funeral services for Minnie will be held at 1:30 on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevens Point. Sandra Wendland A.I.M. will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon to the time of services at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Minnie was born January 8, 1918 in Rochester, MN, the daughter of John and Martha (Grabow) Vagt. She married Robert Boardman in 1933 and they settled in Rochester. They raised 3 daughters and Minnie was a stay at home mother. The family moved to Marshfield in 1948. The couple later divorced. Minnie worked at the Johnson Garment Factory for 15 years retiring in 1980. Minnie then moved to Stevens Point and became very active at the Lincoln Center. She enjoyed great success in the Senior Olympics and enjoyed volunteering for various activities.
She quilted, babysat, and worked the Special Olympics for many years. Prior to poor eyesight she enjoyed making Christmas ornaments, baby bibs and embroidering dish towels.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Lou Ehrenreich, Mt. Airy; Carol Ann (Roger) Turner, Stevens Point; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Judith Kay Woodbury, 7 brothers, and 1 sister.
