The Wisconsin State Patrol is recruiting motivated men and women interested in an exciting and fulfilling career in law enforcement as a State Patrol trooper or inspector.

Applicants for these positions are required to complete an online form available at WiscJobs (http://wisc.jobs/public/index.asp) by Friday, February 21, 2014. On their online form, applicants will select their preferred location and dates for a multiple-choice examination, which will be administered at the following sites:

• Wausau—North Central Technical College (NTC), 1000 W. Campus Drive, on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1.
• Madison—Hill Farms State Transportation Building, 4802 Sheboygan Avenue, on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4.
• Pewaukee—Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road, on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4.
• Eau Claire—Plaza Hotel & Suites, 1202 W. Claremont Avenue, on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 6.

Although efforts will be made to accommodate all preferences, applicants may be scheduled for alternate exam dates if necessary. Applicants are urged to make necessary work and personal arrangements in advance.

Exams will be scored on-site, and applicants will be notified of the results immediately. The most qualified applicants will move to the next step of the process. Unlike previous recruitments, there will be no on-site interviews at the exam locations.

This recruitment will be used to fill the State Patrol’s next recruit class, which will begin training on July 13, 2014. Previous recruit classes have ranged from 35 to 45 cadets. Applicants who were previously considered must reapply and start the process from the beginning.

Successful candidates will receive a salary plus meals and lodging during their 23 weeks of training at the State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Recruits who successfully complete the rigorous training at the academy will be sworn in as either a trooper or inspector with a starting salary of $19.951 per hour plus excellent state employee health insurance, retirement and other benefits.
