Lt. Governor Kleefisch and Secretary Chandler Launch Tax Reform Website

For the City-Times
Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler this week launched a new website, TaxReform.wi.gov, so all Wisconsinites can add their ideas and input to the ongoing conversation about tax reform.
“Over the past few months, we have traveled all over Wisconsin listening to folks from every walk of life at our tax reform roundtables,” the Lt. Governor said. “This website provides a wonderful way to expand the conversation so all citizens can share their thoughts about the level of taxes in this state.”
“This website will provide important information about tax reform for citizens to consider as they form their opinions,” said Secretary Chandler. “We have heard many good ideas through our roundtables, and we hope to receive many more ideas through this new website.”
TaxReform.wi.gov is a multifaceted tool for Wisconsinites to both learn about taxes and share their own thoughts. It includes videos and news coverage from past roundtables, columns from the Lt. Governor discussing taxes, and informational presentations about taxation in Wisconsin and other states.
TaxReform.wi.gov is part of a broader initiative by the Lt. Governor and Secretary Chandler to engage all of Wisconsin in an open conversation about tax reform. Undertaken at the request of Governor Scott Walker, their tax reform tour has hosted roundtables in Beloit, Eau Claire, Superior, Green Bay, Platteville, La Crosse, and Stevens Point, with more planned over the next two months. These roundtables include a wide variety of perspectives: small business owners, farmers, veterans, realtors, retirees, doctors, and working parents, among many others.
“Everyone pays taxes, and so everyone has a stake in the system we use to fund our government. We hope all Wisconsinites takes a few minutes to visit TaxReform.wi.gov to add their voices to this important discussion,” the Lt. Governor concluded. “Governor Walker and I are committed to lowering the overall tax burden facing Wisconsin’s families and employers, and we look forward to everyone’s thoughts on the best way to accomplish that goal.”
