Women who have completed treatment for breast cancer often benefit greatly from resources and support as they move forward into their “new normal” life.

Marshfield Clinic is offering Wellness Beyond Breast Cancer, a holistic wellness program proven to help women regain their physical, emotional and spiritual health after breast cancer treatment.

The program will be taught by a certified facilitation team consisting of a registered nurse and social worker. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Feb. 22, at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston.

The program is free to women of all ages who have completed breast cancer treatment – such as surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation for a first diagnosis – regardless of when or where they received their care.

“After facing trauma such as breast cancer, women need time to recover, both physically and emotionally. With proper support, they can work through their own unique experience and thrive after treatment,” said Mindy Gribble, Marshfield Clinic’s WINGS survivorship program coordinator.

The goals of the program are to improve physical status; decrease emotional distress; increase hope, spiritual strength and resilience; and improve overall quality of life.

Program participants will learn about various healing and coping skills and will have opportunities to ask questions and share insights with other participants and program facilitators. Topics discussed by guest speakers will address both common post-treatment concerns and the physical, psychological, social/relational and physical dimensions of wellness.

Wellness Beyond Breast Cancerhas been made possible by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation Central Wisconsin Affiliate. Abook, resource materials, lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge.
