Officials from the City of Stevens Point will meet with the Southside Business Association on Thursday to present updates and answer questions on the Business 51 reconstruction project.
DOT officials were on hand at Monday’s Board of Public Works meeting to discuss potential exceptions under state and federal roadway requirement laws which the city could apply for in the reconstruction of Business 51. The project is slated to begin in 2016.
City leaders say while it’s not an official public meeting, a quorum of the City Council may be present and members of the public are welcome to listen and observe.
“The city won’t be taking any action on this, and I don’t know how many alderpersons are going to be there but they’ve all been invited,” said City Clerk John Moe.
The meeting is being hosted by the Southside Business Association on Feb. 13 at Blue Top Family Restaurant & Rookies Sports Pub, 3425 Church Street in Stevens Point and begins at 6:30 PM.
