Marcella “Marcie” M. Rozek, 75

Marcella “Marcie” M. Rozek, 75 of Custer, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Ministry-St. Michael’s Hospital following a courageous seven week battle with cancer.
Marcella was born April 11, 1938 in the Town of Sharon. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Della (Rekowski) Klesmit. She attended the Tomorrow River School and later Sacred Heart Elementary school in Polonia. She finished her education at Emerson Technical School in Stevens Point. Marcie worked at Normington’s Laundry Mat for five years from the age of sixteen until she was twenty- one.
She then met the love of her life, Jerome Rozek on January 5, 1958. They began dating and were married on May 9, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Shortly after their marriage Marcie quit her job and settled on the family farm.
The couple then purchased a farm on Edgewood Road in the Town of Stockton, where they began to raise their family. Jeff, Cindy and Kenny were born and raised in this farm. In 1970, they moved to the original family farm on County Road K in the Town of Stockton. That is where their fourth child Jerry Jr. was born.
After the death of her father-in-law, Ernest Rozek in 1997, the couple moved in with Jerry’s mother Esther at their current residence in the Town of Stockton. Marcie was known as “Grandma Trouble” or “Grandma on the Farm” to her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marcie loved spending time with her family, carrying on many family traditions, including making homemade ponczkas. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, canning, baking, working on word search puzzles, and feeding the birds. Marcie loved listening to Polka music and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers with her mother-in-law Esther. She was also a member of the Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church for over 56 years.
Marcie is survived by her husband of 54 years Jerome, their children; Jeff (Sandy) Rozek, Cindy (John) Kowal, Kenny (Betty) Rozek and Jerry Jr. (Lori) Rozek. Her nine grandchildren Chris, Staci, Sarah, Stephanie, Josh, Dylan, Brett, Bennett and Allie, and four great grandchildren Corbin, Erin, Hannah and Jack. Further survived by her mother-in-law Esther Rozek, one brother Roger (Loretta) Klesmit and one sister Jeanette Kaminski and two brothers-in-law Robert (Celia) Rozek and Leonard (Janice) Rozek.
She was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Della Klesmit, one brother Leonard Klesmit and two infant sisters, her father-in-law Ernest Rozek and a brother-in-law Andrew Kaminski. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, and from 9:30 A.M. Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Church until the time for mass.
