Photo of the Day: Shaving Snow Banks

Portage County road crews took advantage of the sunny- albeit freezing- weather Tuesday to shave down snow banks on one side of County Road HH.
Using municipal trucks outfitted with a large rotating brush, crews cut down the snow banks because they were blocking the line of site for turning vehicles, creating a safety hazard. Some of the snow banks were four feet high.
Crews closed down two of the road’s four lanes to complete the maintenance.
