The National Weather Service has the entire Stevens Point Area under a wind child advisory Wednesday through Thursday, with wind chill values dropping the temperature to nearly -35 and remaining bitterly cold throughout the remainder of the week.

County emergency management officials have announced the following warming sites will be available through Saturday:

•  Portage County Public Library, 1001 Main St., 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., 715-346-1544.

•  Salvation Army, 1600 Briggs St., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., 715-341-2437.

•  Portage County Aging and Disability Resource Center, 1519 Water St., 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 715-346-1401. No services available if school is canceled.

•  Portage County Health and Human Services, 817 Whiting Ave., 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 715-345-5350.

•  Portage County Public Library, 1001 Main St., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., 715-346-1544. May close early due to weather.

•  Stevens Point Recreation Center, 2442 Sims Ave., 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 715-346-1536.

•  Lettie Jensen Community Center, 487 North Main Street, Amherst, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 715-498-5012.

•  Kennedy Elementary School, 616 West Second Street, Junction City , 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 715-345-5433.

•  Rosholt Public Library located at 137 North Main Street, Rosholt 715-677-4510; Hours: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

•  Village of Almond Municipal Center, 122 Main Street, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 715-366-8171.

•  Village of Plover Municipal Center, 2400 Post Road, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 715-345-5252.
