What background qualifies you for this position?
I have been a member of this community for 59 years and value they quality of life it offers. I have worked with students and families of this community in my prior and present position. In the past I volunteered in classrooms daily for over 6 years. I was instilled with solid family and community values that have grown with me over the years.
What strengths and interests do you bring to the board?
I am a strong listener and compassionate person. I bring to the board my knowledge of the schools within our district and my knowledge of the community.
As a board member, how would you foster a more positive public opinion of the board?
Honesty and respect which starts with me first. If an item on the agenda is anticipated to have a lengthy discussion, the agenda should not be loaded. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion with a civil discussion taking place.
What is your knowledge and understanding of the current public school funding situation in Wisconsin?
My knowledge of the current public school funding is at the overall level. I believe the public needs to get to the root of issues. The overall records need to be viewed closely to determine the public’s priorities and how funding should be distributed.
