National Guard Units to Deploy to Afghanistan

Two Wisconsin Army National Guard units are slated to deploy overseas.
Battery A of the 121st Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Battalion from Sussex, as well as the 829th Engineer Company, headquartered in Chippewa Falls, are being deployed to Afghanistan on separate missions. Both will train in Texas before leaving the country.
About 80 soldiers from Battery A will be to provide artillery fire support for coalition forces operating in Afghanistan.
Over 160 soldiers from the 829th will deploy to southern Afghanistan to tear down forward operating bases operated by coalition forces.
