Assembly Approves Walker’s Tax Cuts
By Patrick Lynn
The State Assembly on Thursday approved a plan to cut taxes by Governor Walker.
Under the bill, which was passed 61-35, workers and homeowners will see tax cuts, while farmers and factories will get some extra tax breaks using the $1 billion surplus in the state budget.
Property taxes will decrease by about $131 and $46 in reductions will be seen by residents who file income taxes.
The bill also comes with nearly $40 million in spending cuts designed to avoid deficit in the next budget for 2015. The bill moves to the Governor’s office for his signature.
