Tibbetts Rearrested on Bail Jumping

A man facing multiple charges of sexual assault is back behind bars tonight.
Steven Tibbetts, 32 of Stevens Point, was arrested earlier this month after being accused of sexually assaulting an 18 year-old woman in a Town of Linwood residence. After news of his arrest became public, several other victims came forward with similar accusations.
Tibbetts, who owns the downtown Energy Café, an Internet café, was rearrested at 11:48 AM Tuesday after he allegedly broke a no-contact order when he approached one of the victims at Wal-Mart.
On March 17 Tibbetts was formally charged with sexual assault of an unconscious victim and second-degree sexual assault through the use of force. The number of women who allege Tibbetts drugged and raped them is not currently known.
Tibbetts had been released on bond and wass under orders to avoid contact with minors and his accusers.
He remains at Portage County Jail. More as we have it.
