Letter: Former Board Secretary Supports Larson, Scott

To the Editor-

I am supporting Chris Scott and Bob Larson for the School Board. During my recent employment with the board, Bob and Chris treated me with
respect and were serious advocates for the students, considering all sides before voting.

You may have read the article here in City-Times that I had quit my job as secretary. My quitting had nothing to do with Dr. Weninger or the employees at Bliss. It had EVERYTHING to do with the actions of Presley, Shirek, Totten, and Sheibley. They have banded together and are toxic for the district, in my opinion. Attila has been hired to do an enormous job as superintendent. The “4” (as I refer to them) have put up obstacles at every turn. On board meeting days, you can bet there will be numerous emails requesting information that it would take Attila hours to do! They make an obstacle course so he isn’t able to get the important business of running the district done. Many times, it is the same question from 2 or 3 of them, carefully planned out and sent at appropriate intervals.

I taught for 33 years. I know that Act 10 upset the apple cart. Even though I was retired, I felt the anger and disgust for teachers by some community members. It doesn’t teach our children a thing…other than teachers are money hungry and lazy; nice things to feed your kids about their role models. If the teachers in this district support the views of the JC twins, Presley, and Sheibley, I think they might want to step back and analyze priorities. All of you have probably told your children to stay away from toxic people because they could mean trouble. Same thing applies here! Act 10 is probably not going away; please work together for a common goal.

Respect has gone the way of the dinosaur. People are speaking before thinking, no filters, not considering others’ feelings…there isn’t a person out there that could think our society is moving in a positive direction. I fear for my grandchildrens’ futures. Therefore, my support goes to Larson and Scott. They really work well with Jeff Ebel, Angel Faxon, and Bliss staff. Let’s bring civility back; please vote for Bob and Chris on Tuesday. I will be!

And a note to the “5”–thank you for being a wonderful, caring group to work for…I miss you! (No words were omitted where ellipses were used.)
