‘Ring Out Sexual Violence’ Event Kicks Off Awareness Activities
City-Times Staff
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and The Portage County Community Response Team, along with the Zonta Club of Stevens Point, have plans to “ring out” sexual violence.
The event takes place April 12 at noon in the Stevens Point Market Square. Attendees are asked to bring their own bells, and area churches may be ringing along for 12 minutes.
The symbolic ringing is intended to recognize the impact of victimization on our community and celebrate hope, according to a press release from CAP Services.
This is the first of several events being held throughout the month. Other events planned for the month include:
4/23 — Denim Day: Wear denim in solidarity to end sexual violence
