Former Trek Bicycle Executive and Democratic Candidate for Governor Mary Burke says Wisconsin can do better than Scott Walker.
“Under Scott Walker, Wisconsin is falling behind,” Burke said in a statement Monday. “In job creation, we are 35th in the country and second- to- last among Midwestern states. Worse still, we are one of the worst in the country in new business starts. Walker’s game plan has failed.”
Burke also said giving tax breaks to out- of- state corporations is not the best way to create jobs.
“And it’s not how you grow the middle class,” she added.
Scott Walker- who arguably has already spent several months unofficially campaigning- is expected to formally announce his re-election bid today in La Crosse, where he won in 2010 by just 115 votes. The stop is his first of many on Tuesday where he’s expected to discuss his campaign.
Burke will spend the week campaigning at various stops across the state.
Tuesday is the first day candidates for office can circulate petitions to get on the November ballot.
