Tibbetts on the Hook for More Charges

By Patrick Lynn
A man accused of sexual assault is now facing additional similar charges.
Steven Tibbetts, 32 of Stevens Point, was arrested in March after he allegedly drugged and raped an 18 year-old woman. After being released on $5,000 bail, he later was accused of bail jumping when he allegedly approached his victim at Wal-Mart in Crossroads Commons. He was taken into custody for that but was later released on $2,000 bail.
Police say additional women came forward after word of Tibbetts’ arrest hit the media. Tibbetts now faces charges from three separate incidents including fourth degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim, second-degree sexual assault by the use of force and second-degree sexual assault/sex organ injury.
Tibbetts returns to court May 1.
