Gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke is coming to Plover on Friday.
Burke will be at Point Precision, 2675 Precision Drive, at 2:45 PM to a tour of the facility and hold a roundtable discussion of her jobs plan, which she calls “Invest for Success”.
In a statement released Thursday, Burke said “we’re not even close” to having a thriving economy under Governor Scott Walker.
Burke is the former Trek Bicycle executive and became Walker’s first competition for the November election.
Burke’s 5- point plan includes building the economy under “industry clusters”, building on the state’s core strengths like agriculture and manufacturing, develop and align a 21st century workforce with higher education and training, focusing on entrepreneurs and new businesses, competing globally top ten economy and investing in community development.
“I’m a business person, so I view this as a starting point,” Burke said. “I want feedback and input into the plan from business owners, workers, entrepreneurs, students, researchers- let me know what you think, because this plan isn’t just for the campaign: it’s the playbook I’ll use to strength Wisconsin’s economy and middle class starting the day I’m sworn in.”
