Deadline for Chance to Win Free Rain Barrels Days Away

The City of Stevens Point is giving away two rain barrels to area homeowners.
Property owners within the city can register to win one of the rain barrels, which were assembled by the North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition. The drawing will be held May 1.
In January of 2013 the city added a new storm water utility, and along with it a new annual fee of $59 for single family homes, bringing in $1.43 million in additional city revenue to cover additional maintenance on the new storm drain system. 
City leaders implemented a one-time credit program for residents who install a rain garden, rain barrel or similar water-saving system.
City residents can complete or drop off an entry form at 300 Bliss Ave. by April 30.
