Donald J. Rutta, age 75, of Plover, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 24, 2014 at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston. 

He was born March 22, 1939 in Stevens Point.  He is the son of the late Benedyckt and Evelyn (Hintz) Rutta.  His marriage to Patricia Gawlik took place on Sept. 5, 1959 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009.

Don retired from Consolidated Wisconsin River Division after 45 years of service. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus council #1170.   He enjoyed his beautiful lawn, the outdoors, feeding the birds, time spent at his cottage and watching his grandsons play hockey and baseball.  Don did what he loved and loved what he did.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Pat, three daughters: Debbie (Tom) Winters of Tomahawk, Joan Marie & Doreen (Dan) Minch both of Stevens Point, one son: Jeff (Jackie) Rutta of Poy Sippi.  Two grandsons: Dylan & Jacob Minch.  Preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Norbert and 1 sister Viola.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Tuesday April 29, 2014 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill officiating.  Burial will take place in the Parish cemetery.  Family and friends will gather from 9:30 am until the time of services Tuesday morning at the Church.  For online condolences please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
