Representative Katrina Shankland of Stevens Point is holding office hours Friday to hear from Portage County’s small business owners and employees.
Shankland’s “Small Business Office Hours” will take place at the Amber Grill immediately following the Portage County Business Council’s Small Business Breakfast at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center. Rep. Shankland will be the keynote speaker at the event, presenting her speech entitled “Investing in Our Own: Growing Small Businesses in Portage County.”
Owners, managers, and employees of small businesses, as well as community members, are invited to join Shankland at her following the breakfast between 9:30-11:30 AM at The Lounge inside Amber Grill, 1001 Amber Avenue.
“My number one goal is to support local family-supporting jobs and strengthen job creation in Central Wisconsin,” Shankland said in a statement released Thursday. “That’s why I’d like to hear directly from small business owners about the policies that have helped them succeed and the challenges they face.”
“As a member of the Assembly Workforce Development Committee, I’ve toured our local businesses and met with business owners to learn firsthand about their needs and priorities. At my Small Business Office Hours, I hope to learn more about what Portage County’s employers need to grow their business, and in turn, create jobs,” she added.
