A 30 year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing in an apartment near McCullough and Division streets on Thursday.
The suspect, Joshua Bella of Stevens Point, is in custody on initial charges of probation violation. Additional charges of armed burglary and aggravated assault are expected to be filed, according to a new release from the Stevens Point Police Department.
The victim, a 48 year-old man known to Bella, was stabbed 3 times following a burglary attempt at the residence. According to police, Bella was in possession of a sword and knife when he entered the residence, shortly before 2 AM.
The victim was treated at Ministry St. Michael’s and released. Bella was also treated for injuries following a struggle with the victim and his roommates, and currently sits in the Portage Co. Jail.
City-Times staff made attempts to obtain further details on last Thursday’s stabbing but police only released the information Monday.
