Marshfield Clinic to Hold Bariatric Support Group

Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center is sponsoring bariatric support groups to provide emotional support and education for patients and families of those who have undergone bariatric surgery, or those who may be considering bariatric surgery.

The May meetings will feature group sharing, and a brief update related to insurance. Bariatric Services Program Coordinator Kim Fuehrer and nurse practitioner Kelly Zopfi will lead the discussions.

The Evening Group will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m., May 13, at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center in the Orthopedics Department conference room on the East Wing’s fourth floor. A free clothing exchange also is part of the evening meeting. Park in parking lot C and enter through the East Entrance/Ambulatory Surgery building and follow the signs.

The Daytime Group will meet from 10-11 a.m., May 16, in the Orthopedics Department conference room on the East Wing’s fourth floor. Park in parking lot C and enter through the East Entrance/Ambulatory Surgery Building and follow the signs.

The morning meeting also will be available via teleconference at Marshfield Clinic Minocqua (lower-level large teleconference room); Merrill and Park Falls centers. Go to the main desk for directions.

Anyone who has had weight loss surgery or who is interested in learning more about the surgery is invited to join the group.
