Terrence L. Toltzman, 70
Terrence L. Toltzman (“Terry”), age 70, of Stevens Point passed away on May 2, 2014, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
A Celebration of Life service for Terry will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 3:00 pm, at River of God Fellowship, 1101 Brilowski Road, Suite C, Stevens Point, WI 54482. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 2:00 to the time of services at the church prior to the service on Friday.
Terry was born April 29, 1944, in Spencer, WI, the son of Raymond and Blanche (Rinehart) Toltzman. He graduated from Spencer High School and entered the United States Army. Most of his occupational life was in the machine tool industry, in the southeastern part of Wisconsin.
Terry is survived by his parents, Raymond and Blanche Toltzman, Stevens Point; brother Dale (Candace) Toltzman, Viroqua, WI; brother Gregory (Katherine) Toltzman, Depoe Bay, OR; three sons: Chris (Anna) Toltzman, Rockford, IL; Corey (Jennifer) Toltzman, Kansasville, WI; Jeremy (Melissa) Toltzman, Loves Park, IL; six grandchildren: Lindsey, Monika, Mitchell, Jacob, Addyson, Spencer; his wife Cheryl “Tovah” Meltzer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Colrud Toltzman.
Terry and Cheryl moved to Stevens Point in 2007 so that they could be close to his parents and her mother. Terry made friends and spread sunshine wherever he went. His compassionate unselfish nature, his wit and humor, his ready willingness to help out wherever he found need, and his beautiful smile will be deeply missed.
Terry requested that instead of flowers, donations be made to the following: River of God Fellowship in Stevens Point, where he found a precious spiritual home and where a memorial will be established in his name; the vision support project of the Lion’s Club, of which he was a member for many years; the Portage County Humane Society, in recognition of the high value he placed on preventing the suffering of animals.
