The Stevens Point School Board on Monday will elect officers for the 2014-15 term.
The nine members of the Board will vote for the offices of President, Vice President, Clerk and Treasurer.
Board President Terry Rothmann served in the position for the past year but did not apply to run for office again. Vice President Angel Faxon presided over the last Board meeting in April, as Rothmann was not present.
Board Treasurer Bob Larson lost his re-election bid for School Board in April. Board Clerk Jeff Presley was re-elected in April and will serve a one- year term, filling a spot left when former Board Member John Zellmer moved out of the district before his term expired.
New Board Members include auxiliary police officer Alex Kochanowski and Trish Baker, Portage Co. Clerk of Courts. Both are first- time members of the School Board.
During the last round of officer elections, the Board conducted over two dozen secret ballot voters over a five hour period, marking the beginning of a turbulent 12 months of in-fighting, nit-picking and six-plus hour meetings.
The School Board meeting will start Monday at 6:30 PM in the Bliss Educational Services Center, 1900 Polk St. The public is welcome.
