The building which for years was occupied by Country Kitchen is now a pile of rubble.
According to Community Development Director Michael Ostrowski, the property had been up for sale following a string of unsuccessful start-up restaurants on the lot. He said the property was purchased by TA Solberg Company in Minocqua, which owns Trig’s grocery store on the adjacent lot.
Ostrowski said Trig’s has not yet presented the city with expansion plans for the grocery store but called it an “ideal location for visibility”. A representative of TA Solberg was not immediately available for comment.
The building was constructed in 1978 and was demolished over a 2- day period.
