Community Theater to Present Broadway Hit This Weekend
For the City-Times
Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater (cwACT) proudly presents the classic Broadway hit, “You Know I Can’t Hear You When the Water’s Running”.
This Tony Award winning show was written by Robert Anderson and includes four one-act plays. “The Shock of Recognition” analyzes the necessity of a nude scene on stage; “The Footsteps of Doves” follows a couple shopping for a new bed after 25 years of marriage; “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” captures parents discussing the sex education of their almost adult children; and “I’m Herbert” features two elderly people sitting on a porch discussing their previous marriages and flings, but both are hazy on the details.
This production features four first-time cwACT directors; Jon Lowery, Joe Battaglia, Maxine Hogan and Elizabeth Kawleski. Each act also features its own cast. Performances will take place at the Theater @1800, 1800 North Point Drive, Stevens Point. Performance times are 7:30 p.m., May 16 and 17, and 2:00 p.m. on May 18. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 12. Tickets are available at the UWSP Box Office in the Dreyfus University Center or in the theater upper lobby one hour prior to each performance. Call 715-346-4100 to make reservations or visit www.cwact.org for more information.
