Plover police on Saturday had blocked off at least one property following what’s being referred to as an “incident” at a home on Easlan Drive near Hoover Avenue.
Yellow police tape and a Plover police car this morning blocked the intersection of Cedar and Easlan. The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Portage County Coroner’s Office as well as a fire crew were on this scene this morning. Investigators were still on the scene at 2:50 PM.
Inquiries made with the Plover Police Department and Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office were referred to the Department of Justice.
When asked for an estimated time on a possible release of information, Lead Communications Technician Tim Peterson said “not anytime soon.”
“And I can’t give you any information,” he added, referring City-Times staff to the DOJ.
Police on the scene say they’ve been at the location since at least 8 AM. According to the Portage Co. Communication Center, the 911 call came in just after 1 AM Saturday.
No further details, including the nature of the incident, have been released.
According to the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Criminal Investigation has taken over the scene. More as we have it.
