WisDOT to Hold Public Meeting for WIS 13/34 in Wood, Portage Counties
Meeting will focus on access management between Reddin Road and US 10
For the City-Times
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss plans to initiate an access management project along WIS 13/34, from Reddin Road to US 10 (towns of Rudolph and Carson, village of Rudolph, and the city of Wisconsin Rapids), in Wood and Portage counties.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday June 5, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rudolph Think Academy, 6950 Knowledge Avenue, Rudolph. The objective of the meeting is to familiarize the public with access management objectives, the proposed project schedule, and obtain feedback from business and property owners. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. After the presentation, the meeting will follow an open house format.
The recent completion of the new, four-lane US 10 between Marshfield and I-39 included the transfer of WIS 13 onto existing WIS 34, and construction of a new interchange at US 10/WIS 13/34. These route upgrades and changes led WisDOT to consider long-term planning measures to preserve the safety and efficient operations of WIS 13/34, while still providing adequate access to adjacent properties. There are no construction projects scheduled as part of this process.
The Rudolph Think Academy is handicapped accessible. Citizens planning to attend the meeting, who are hearing-impaired and require an interpreter, may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay system (dialing 711).
