SPPD Arrests Two in Iverson Park Attack

The Stevens Point Police Department today announced it has arrested two individuals in connection with an assault which occurred on Memorial Day at Iverson Park.
Detectives have arrested two men, one 18 years- old charged with substantial battery, and a 26 year- old charged with substantial battery and a probation violation. Both men are currently being held in the Portage County Jail awaiting an appearance in court.
This investigation is ongoing, according to a statement from Sgt. Tony Babl, who said other arrests in connection to this incident are likely.
The 36 year-old man who was attacked in the park has since been released from the hospital.
The names of the men were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
