Susan Theresa Zelhofer, 57
Susan Theresa Zelhofer of Stevens Point died peacefully early Sunday morning June 1, 2014 at her home from a battle of multiple forms of cancer. Susan was born in Chippewa Falls, April 24, 1957, the daughter of Patricia McNamara and the late Patrick McNamara.
Sue loved music. In her early years she was a Mass choir director for Pacelli High School, the youth choir director for St Stephens Church before her marriage, and was a wedding soloist. Besides reading, golfing, bowling, stamping, cross-stitching and her love of flowers and wind chimes, Sue’s main passion was her family. She refused to travel for work when there was a birthday or anniversary, never missing one. She was also their most avid sports and music fan. She encouraged them in their band and fine arts efforts and took pride in their accomplishments. In the early years, there were basketball and baseball nightly games and weekend tournaments with Kent. She went to every game possible from t-ball and flag football, through summer leagues, traveling teams and high school games. Sue was there to cheer her family on, dressing up in silly outfits with the rest of the moms or offering them cash to get a hit if they were in a slump. She continued her sports enthusiasm with her nieces and nephews. Sue also took pride in encouraging her kids to “always be prepared” while being a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader.
