Sheriff’s Office: Teen Rolls Car, One Flown to St. Joe’s

The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office reports a one- car rollover has sent a 16 year-old girl to the hospital.
Emergency crews responded to a one- vehicle rollover crash at a residence on the 8800 block of Glenwood Road in the Town of Grant. According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies soon determined the vehicle, which was being driven by a 17 year-old young lady from the Town of Grant, actually crashed .2 miles away near County Highway W and 100th Street. The vehicle was then driven to the Glenwood Road home.
Deputies say the accident was reported at 4:48 PM on Tuesday.
The 17 year- old driver sustained minor injuries. Two additional passengers were also in the vehicle; a 16 year-old boy was released from the scene with minor injuries, and a 16 year-old girl was flown from the scene to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for medical treatment. Her current condition is not known.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Rapids Fire Department, United Ambulance, Plover Fire Department, Ministry Spirit medical helicopter, and Grant Emergency Medical Responders all responded to the scene.
The crash currently remains under investigation by the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
