NEW: Victim in Domestic Disturbance Succumbs to Injuries
By Patrick Lynn
A man who was beaten in his Cedar Dr. home on Memorial Day has died as a result of his injuries. Christopher Bonnstetter was pronounced dead at 5:41 PM on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Bonnstetter received several blunt force trauma injuries during what Plover police are calling a “domestic disturbance” on May 26 and was airlifted to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition until his death on Tuesday.
Police arrested Bonnstetter’s stepson, 32 year-old Andrew S. Pray from the Cedar Drive residence without incident, according to Plover Police Capt. Gary Widder. Widder said Pray faces initial charges of attempted intentional homicide, aggravated battery/intent great bodily harm and felony battery. At least one additional charge of 1st degree intentional homicide is expected.
Pray is currently in the Portage County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond. The investigation is still ongoing and criminal charges are under review at the Portage County District Attorney’s Office.
Funeral Services for Chris will be held at 11 AM on Saturday June 7, at New Hope Community Church in Junction City
