Stevens Point police say two additional men suspected of participating with a group attack at Iverson Park on Memorial Day are in jail.
Jesus Rangel, a 26 year-old from Stevens Point, was arrested Tuesday after witness statements identified him and as many as seven others attackers as having sent a 36 year-old man to the hospital. Police say the victim, who suffered several facial fractures and will need surgery for his injuries, was beaten with fists and a wooden mallet or stick.
Rangel has been charged with a probation violation and is being held on a $15,000 bond.
A third suspect in the crime turned himself in on Wednesday after he was identified by the victim. Angelo Benjamin Garcia, 23, also of Stevens Point, faces charges of substantial battery and disorderly conduct. He is being held on $15,000 bond.
Stevens Point resident Auston Ortiz, 18, was the first to be arrested for the attack on May 30. He faces charges of aggravated battery and is also being held on $15,000 cash bond.
All three men are expected back in court on June 16.
