Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners Send Out Two More Fire/EMS Vehicles
For the City-Times
In conjunction with the Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partnership, a program called Firefighters United has delivered another fire/EMS vehicle to Nicaragua.
The project works with volunteers and Fire Departments throughout Wisconsin and Nicaragua to improve EMS services, according to Amy Wiza, executive director for the Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partnership in Stevens Point.
Wiza said 29 fire trucks and 15 ambulances have been sent from Wisconsin to Nicaragua, with the latest two arriving Saturday, May 24th via C17 US Air Force Mission plane. The airlift is part of the Denton Program which assists in the transport of humanitarian donations, truly an exceptional example how the United States supports people-to-people organizations and enables them to accomplish their humanitarian mission in ways that would not be possible without their assistance.
