Norma J. Hintz, 79, Stevens Point, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Point Manor in Whiting. She was born on Sep. 6, 1934, in Plover, to the late Everett and Ione (Coats) Porter, and was a 1951 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. On Oct. 30, 1951, her marriage to Richard Hintz took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Torun. Richard died on Feb. 20, 1996.

From 1951 to 1984, Norma had worked for Weber Tackle Company and later for Worzalla Publishing before her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, canning and bingo.

Survivors include her daughters and sons, Sandy Sniadajewski of Plover, Ronald (Kathy) and Rick (Gayle) both of Custer, Robert (Susan) of Madison, Roger (Jacci) of Custer, Susan (John) Kawlewski, Sonja (Anthony) Hall and Shawn (Chad) Godin all of Stevens Point; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Everett Porter of Wisconsin Rapids. In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joe Sniadajewski; grandsons, Kirk Sniadajewski and Eric Hintz; sister, Carol Porter; and brother, Harley Porter.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Torun, with the Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second St., Stevens Point, and again at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
