Plover Trucker Hits Million Mile Mark
For the City-Times
Imagine driving your car for one million miles without an accident – not even a scratch.
Now imagine driving the same distance in a tractor-trailer truck. It’s not impossible: Plover resident and professional truck driver Jeff Langenhan has done just that, and has been honored by his employer, Con-way Freight in Stevens Point, for achieving this safety milestone.
Driving a million miles is equivalent to going around the circumference of the earth 41.5 times. It would take an average driver in the motoring public 74 years to drive a million miles.
Langenhan, a four-time State Truck Driving Champion, has spent the past 20 years with Con-way Freight. He has earned numerous awards in that span, including the 2009 Ray Newberry “Mr. Safety” award and the 2009 William Seavers Grand Champion Award.
When he is not on the road, Langenhan enjoys spending time with his family, snowmobiling and fishing.
