June 13

Assault: A 47 year-old man reported to police at 1:54 AM that he had been hit by another person during a disturbance at a home on the 1300 block of Strongs Avenue.

Transmission Caught Fire: A 44 year-old man called police to report he had crashed his vehicle after his transmission caught on fire while he was driving on Highway 54 at 1:15 PM. No injuries were reported.

Mailbox Fatality: A 25 year-old woman reported at 2:08 PM than someone had damaged the mailbox at her County Trunk Y home.

Facebook Bully: A 28 year-old man reported at 6:10 PM than another 28 year-old man was sending him threatening messages on Facebook at his Popular St. home.

Fire at Iverson: Police and fire crews were dispatched to Iverson Park after a fire was reported at CCCC. The fire reportedly only damaged some trees and shrubs and was confined to a small space.

Domestic Disturbance: Police were dispatched to a home on the 2700 block of Minnesota Avenue at 10:57 PM after a reported domestic disturbance involving an 89 year-old male suspect and 28 year-old female victim.

Assault: A 21 year-old woman reported at 8:18 PM she had been assaulted by a 25 year-old man near Manowski Court and Torun Road.

Party Pooper: At 11:39 PM, a 20 year-old man complained to sheriff’s deputies that a wedding reception being held on Lake Road was too loud.

June 14

Unruly Inmate: Staff at the Portage Co. Jail made a report of an “uncooperative female” inside the jail at 11:01 AM.

Bar Fight: Police responded to Big Todd’s Rumble Inn, 1109 Park Street, after a bar fight was reported at 10:01 AM.

June 15

Stealing from Boat: A 29 year-old woman reported several fishing items were stolen from a boat she had parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 11:21 AM.

Lawn Ornament Thief: A 64 year-old woman reported at 12:20 PM that several lawn decorations had been stolen from her home on the 1400 block of Division Street.

Fleet Farm Thief: A 23 year-old man was cited for retail theft after he attempted to steal a Browning hunting knife valued at $24.99 from Fleet Farm at 1:26 PM.

Suspected Pot Smoking Disc Golfers: Someone called police to report possible drug use at the McDill Gold Course in Stevens Point at 7:34 PM. Police enlisted the help of the Portage Co. K-9 team but found no indication of drug use.

Cash Stolen from Vehicle: A 21 year-old man reported someone stole $250.00, all in fifty dollar bills, from his vehicle as it was parked on Monroe Street at 8:50 PM.
