NEW: Berkshire Hathaway to Hire Over 100

For the City-Times

It’s been an eventful year for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, the company formerly known as Noel Group.

In January, Noel Group was sold to Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, and now the company is growing. Fast. This year it’s already added more than 100 new full-time and 50 part-time employees, with many more positions to be filled. And Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection has plans to add hundreds more employees by fall.

To show off its growth to prospective employees and select community members, BHTP will be holding two open houses, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, and from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, June 26.

“New-business ventures have been great for us, but more importantly for this community, we are creating jobs and looking for talented people to help us grow,” said John Noel, president of Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. “If you’re looking for great work in a great environment, and you have a passion to help people, you really ought to consider working for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection.”

The growth is coming from many sectors: the May launch of AirCare™, an innovative new travel-protection product; the acquisition of new business from Verizon, one of the company’s largest business-to-business customers; and continued growth in the sales of insurance products to travel agents.

Given all these business additions, the last aspect of Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection’s growth spurt should come as no surprise. The company is running out of space at its Stevens Point office, and recently moved into larger accommodations at its office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

“Right now, we have plans that will get through our immediate growth, while we explore options for future expansion,” Noel added.

“We are aggressively hiring customer-service ambassadors, and all our other departments are expanding as well,” added Sue Bergh, Noel Group’s human-resource director. “Our space is maxed out and we’re looking for places to put all the new hires. It’s a nice problem to have.”
