Timothy C. Kinney, 62
Timothy C. Kinney, age 62, of Stevens Point, died at home peacefully on June 17, 2014 while under the care of his loving wife and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Tim was born May 21, 1952 to the late Charles & Elaine (Steinbeck) Kinney in Stevens Point, WI. He grew up there, attended the local schools and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1970.
Following high school, Tim became employed with Consolidated Paper as a General Laborer until he was inducted into the US Army on April 25, 1972. He served his country proudly and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), & the Expert Badge (M016). He was honorably discharged April 24, 1978.
Following his military service, Tim continued his employment with the paper mill as a General Laborer, Wood room Operator, and retired in 2009 as a Millwright.
Tim married Kathleen E. Lehman on March 12, 2009 in Stevens Point.
Tim will be remembered as the family patron and protector. Once he warmed up, his tender heart and his sense of humor became inseparable. He had a passion for anything involving the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and yard work. He enjoyed working with animals, especially his dogs. Tim was the family cook and had a natural ability for preparing fresh home-made meals. He was also a sports enthusiast; he enjoyed watching and cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, & any local sports teams. Tim was also a fan of westerns; anything with John Wayne. Tim especially enjoyed spending time with his family –he will be sincerely missed by them.
He is survived by his wife, Katie of Stevens Point; children, Chuck (Amber Skerven) Kinney of Stevens Point, Adam (Kristen) Kinney of Stevens Point, Jenny Kinney of Stevens Point, and Brandon (Lindsey Hebda) Makuski of Stevens Point; granddaughter, Ava Jo Makuski; Aunt Betty Fosso; and nephew, Shane. He is further survived by ex-wife, Lynne Mehis; ex-wife, Michelle McNichols; cousins and many close friends.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Hintzman officiating. A time of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Forest Cemetery with military honors.
Tim’s family would like to extend gratitude to Dr. Onitello, the staff at St Joseph Hospital, & at St Michaels Hospital, and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their compassionate care given to Tim.
