World War II Holocaust Witness From Point featured on WPR’s Route 51
For the City-Times
This Thursday, June 26th, Wisconsin Public Radio’s Route 51 welcomes Holocaust witness and World War Two veteran, John Regnier of Stevens Point, author of Denying the Deniers, A Soldier’s Intersection with the Holocaust.
Regnier served in a medical battalion supporting General George S. Patton’s 3rd Army, and was among the first to witness the atrocities at the Nazi slave labor camp in Ohrdruf, near Buchenwald. Regnier’s photographs document the reality of the Holocaust, and his story condemns and rebuts those who deny it took place. Host Glen Moberg will interview Regnier about his wartime experiences in the liberation of Europe, and ask him why books like his are still necessary 70 years after the fall of Nazi Germany.
Route 51, Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wausau regional talk show, can be heard from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursdays on the Ideas Network stations WLBL 91.9 FM Wausau, WLBL 930 AM Auburndale/Stevens Point, WHBM 90.3 FM Park Falls, WHAA 89.1 FM Adams/Wisconsin Rapids, WHRM 90.9-3 HD and WHSF 89.9 FM Rhinelander/Eagle River.
