Accused Murderer’s Request to Lower Bail Denied
By Patrick Lynn
The man accused of beating his stepfather to death with a baseball bat will not see a lower bail, according to Portage Co. court documents.
32 year-old Andrew Pray allegedly struck 77 year-old Christopher Bonnstetter several times with the bat on Memorial Day at the family’s Plover home. According to police records Bonnstetter was resting in the living room at the time of the attack. Bonnstetter died from his injuries on June 3.
Pray’s public defender Sean Drury had requested a reduction in bail. Judge Thomas Eagon denied the request to lower the cash bond from $250K to $50K.
Pray returns to court June 30th at 1:30 PM.
