School Board Vacancy Applications Due July 9

The Stevens Point Area Public School Board has agreed to fill a vacancy left by Renae Sheilbley on July 14.
Sheibley resigned from the Board effective May 31.
A majority of the Board said they agreed with filling the spot. Board Members Alex Kochanowski and Lisa Totten said they were not in favor of replacing Sheibley. According to Board President Angel Faxon, the Board’s legal counsel recommended the filling the vacancy.
The Board will take applications from area residents interested in filling the position, then meet with each applicants before voting on whom should be appointed to the spot. Applications are due July 9 and are available at Bliss Education Center, 1900 Polk Street.
