Gerald F. Buege, 76, of Plover, died late Tuesday evening, June 24, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born December 4, 1937, in Waukesha. He was the son of the late Gustave and Leona (Dowty) Buege. His father was killed six months before he was born. He lived with his grandparents from 1941 to 1942 in Portage County. Gerald lived with his mother and an assortment of relatives and different families in the Waukesha area growing up.

He forged his mother’s signature on enlistment papers and entered the United States Navy in 1955. He worked at a number of different jobs, finally settling with the Soo Line Railroad. Gerald’s passion was spending time with his family, bow and gun hunting, archery shooting and bowling and golfing with his friends.

He married Loretta Suchon on November 22, 1958, which incidentally was the first day of Deer Gun season.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; and children, Linda Baltzell, Dennis (Angela) Buege, Tim Buege and Chasity Miller. He had seven grandchildren, Justin Buege, Tom Baltzell, Jessica Baltzell, Gerald Baltzell, Kelly Buege, Izaak Buege and Serenity Hackl. He had five great-grandchildren, Hailie, Jordan, Jeremiah, Hayden and Abram. Two sisters, Alice (Marvin) Cain and Doris Dombrowski. Brothers-and sisters-in-law, Tony (Ruth) Suchon, Richard (Barbara) Suchon, Robert (Linda) Suchon, Eleanor Cichosz and Jeannette Boursier. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, may he rest in peace.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Rd., Plover, and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the church until the time for Mass. There will be a parish rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifunerlhome.com.
