June 25

Car v Bear: Deputies responded when a called reported crashing into a bear on Highway O at 10:14 PM. No human injuries were reported. 

Attempted Break-in: A 37 year-old woman called deputies at 6:08 PM that someone tried to break into her Granit Ridge Road home by prying open the door.

Mailbox Fatality: A 36 year-old woman called police at 11:56 PM after someone crashed their vehicle into the mailbox of her Mill Street home in Amherst.

Drunk & Disorderly: A 35 year-old man was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting officers and battery at 8:30 PM. Police responded when the man stumbled into someone’s yard on the 1700 block of McCullough Street and began cursing loudly, then struck the homeowner. Police say the man continued to be combative when officers arrived. He was later found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.376 percent.

June 24

Leash Thief: Police were called at 10:27 AM when a 64 year-old man reported someone stole a dog collar and leash valued at $200 from his Green Avenue residence.

Domestic Abuse: Police arrested a 58 year-old man following domestic abuse and disorderly conduct complaint at a Prairie St. home at 10:26 AM.

Fleet Farm Thief: A 17 year-old boy was cited with retail theft at 12:31 PM after attempting to steal fishing lures from the store.

Restraining Order Violator: A 46 year-old man was arrested after police say he violated his restraining order at a residence on Tarmac St. at 4 PM.

June 23

Trouble With Child: Plover police were called to a Mission Lane home when a parent reported having “trouble” with a minor child in the home at 12:03 AM.
