A Plover man has pleaded guilty to charges of killing of 36 year-old woman last year in Plover, avoiding a trial which was slated to begin in July.
Jose Luis Flores Aca, 32, pled guilty to first degree intentional homicide and first degree sexual assault causing substantial bodily harm. Aca was arrested shortly after the body of his victim, 36 year-old Jamie Koch, was discovered last August in a burned vehicle on a farm in Waupaca County.
The charge of hiding a corpse was dismissed as part of Aca’s plea agreement. The remaining charges carry with it a possibility of life plus forty years for Aca.
Koch was Aca’s neighbor at the Chestnut Arms apartments in Plover, where police say she was strangled then sexually assaulted before Aca burned her body in an attempt to hide the crime.
Aca, who is not an American citizen, was being held on $1 million bond due to his flight risk.
