City Band to Commemorate Independence Day

Following a musical tour last week of the Old West, the Stevens Point City Band sets its sights on celebrating Independence Day 2014 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park.
Due to set-up activities for Riverfront Rendezvous, the band will perform Wednesday, July 2nd in the North Tent at the park.
This week’s concert theme an “American Adventure” and will feature Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” along with other patriotic favorites including John Phillip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes” and Henry Fillmore’s “Americans We”.
The band will also perform an armed forces tribute.
As always, Michele’s Restaurant and Catering of Stevens Point will provide food for purchase before and during the concert.
Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through July 30. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Avenue, Stevens Point.
