The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club awarded $3,000 in scholarships in July. 

The scholarships were administered by the Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club and have been awarded since 2000 to worthy graduating high school seniors of Portage County.

The Scholarship recipients were: Ciana Rose of Stevens Point, daughter of Don and Leah Rose; Lily Wanta of Stevens Point, daughter of Jason Wanta and Kelly Austreng; and Rachel Smith of Custer, daughter of Jason and Ann Fletcher.

Recipients were chosen based on their extracurricular activities, community service, financial need, leadership potential and academic achievement.

The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club was chartered on May 17, 1961. The Club has been in continuous service to our local community and youth.  We seek a dedicated and diverse membership and count on community support for our fund raisers.
