The City Plan Commission on Monday will consider allowing a local car dealership to add an extra 100 spaces to its Highway 10 East parking lot.
The Stevens Point Chrysler dealership, located 5441 Highway 10 east, currently has parking for 150 within its 132,000 square- foot lot. The property is zoned highway commercial, leaving little room for expansion in an already- crowded business corridor, which sits in a wellhead protection district.
Three additional light poles and a storm water basin will also be added to the lot.
According to city documents, officials from the community development department would recommend additional trees and other landscaping due to the increase in parking, as well as add six bicycle stalls near the building.
The City Plan Commission meets at 5:30 PM on Monday, July 7 at the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water Street. The public is welcome.
