Correction: In Face of Vote, Kochanowski Resigns From Police Auxiliary

City-Times Staff

City-Times staff has confirmed School Board Member Alex Kochanowski has resigned from the Stevens Point Police Auxiliary Unit so he could participate in tonight’s vote filling a vacant seat on the School Board. Police Chief Kevin Ruder is among the candidates who have applied to fill the board seat left vacant by Renae Sheibley, who resigned from the board in May for undisclosed reasons.

Kochanowski said he would not have been permitted to vote had he remained a member of the policy auxiliary force, citing conflict of interest. Kochanowski was elected in April.
